2010 Rosslyn Jazz Festival Performers
•AFRO BOP ALLIANCE (1:00 – 2:00pm) – featuring Dave Samuels, who garnered a Latin Grammy award for “Best Latin Jazz Album” – as well as a ‘traditional’ Grammy nomination in the same category.

•JASON MORAN (2:30-3:40pm) – The jazz pianist and his group The Bandwagon – with bassist Tarus Mateen and drummer Nasheet Waits – have challenged the status quo, and earned the reputation as “the future of jazz.” TEN, Moran’s 10th anniversary album with The Bandwagon, is set for release on June 22, 2010.

•THE BAD PLUS (4:05 – 5:15pm) – is a collective made up of bassist Reid Anderson, pianist Ethan Iverson, and drummer David King. Drawing on sources as diverse as classical, jazz, rock, pop and beyond, their aesthetic forces even the most skeptical listener to rethink what differentiates one style of music from another.

•THE TIERNEY SUTTON BAND (5:45 – 7:00pm) – During its 15 years together, the band has received 2 Grammy Nominations for Best Vocal Jazz Album, a JazzWeek Award for Vocalist of the Year, consecutive nominations for Jazz Journalist Association Awards, recorded seven CDs of which several have hit #1 on jazz radio playlists.
